About the Exhibition
The exhibition features the production process of all works by animation master Isao Takahata, spanning from his debut to his posthumous work, including Heidi, Girl of the Alps (1974), Anne of Green Gables (1979), Grave of the Fireflies (1988), Only Yesterday (1991), Pom Poko (1994), The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (2013)
The exhibition features materials written and illustrated by Iso Takahata during his directorial work, including layouts, which serve as the blueprints of the movies. In addition, it contains previously unpublished materials such as Heidi, Girl of the Alps (1974), Anne of Green Gables (1979), illustrated by Hayao Miyazaki who worked as a layout artist for the director Isao Takahata during his time at Zuiyo.
